FLY FISHING IN SOUTHERN FRANCE
Bonjour, here are some flies to use on the Verdon River, Verdon Canyon, Southern France 100km west of Nice.
1. Any trout streamer up to 10cm long as the trout can be quite big (record is a 11kg brown trout)
2. Spent Ignatia hook size 12-16 for the evening.
3. Caenis hook size 18 for very hot summer days, morning and evening
4. Ant hook size 16 very good, especially in the summer all day
5. Red Sedge hook size 12 - 16 , for big trout in the evening
6. Any kind of nymph, usual size for big river
The best period is dry fly end of spring and in summer. Ants are good in
autumn with streamers all year long. Difficult to access the river in the
canyon. 2 hour walk at least but worth it, better with a guide. The Canyon
is near Castellane 100 km west of Nice.

FLYFISHING IN GERMANY
Normally I go fishing in lowland rivers in north east Germany which are inhibited by native and partially stocked brown trout populations. In some cases, grayling is also common. During holidays, I prefer flyfishing in rivers near the mountain areas, often in the Alps or the central German Mountain region. Flies commonly used are:
Hawthorne fly 16/18 hook
Pale Watery 14/16 hook
Light Cahill 14/16 hook
Brown CDC sedges and dry flies hook 16
Big Mayflies hook 10
Adams Hook 12/14
Hoopers 12/14 hook
Bugs hook 14/16
Zonkers, Muddlers & woolly buggers hook size 10
In more open rivers outside the lowlands, gold beaded hares ear nymphs and Pheasant tail nymphs are further the favorites. Hope this helps

NORTHERN ITALY FLY FISHING
Dear Mr Moore, Thank you for the quick delivery of my order. I just got it some days ago and I'm already very excited for using them. As you've been asking me for the place I go fishing. I would like to explain. Usually I go fishing in the mountain torrents in North Italy close to Turin. Normally I use small quantities of flies but always dry flies. In those rivers it is necessary to search for fish. Like that I often use Royal Wulff on a #14 Royal Coach man on #16 or #14 Wickham's Fancy on #12 or #14 and other types of flies, but my preferred is the March brown fly. Many Regards Ernesto Fiora, Italy
