FLY FISHING MIDDLE FINLAND
Winter fishing is very limited because of the very cold weather but when we do go we use streamers like Muddler Minnows and Zonkers. In Spring I use stonefly Larva and adult imitations as well as Muddler Minnows and Zonkers. In Summer I use Sedge imitations, pupa and larva, Nalle Puh (for dry) and small fry streamers. In the Fall I use Hydropsyche Larva, red tag or equivalent, leeches, Muddler Minnows and Zonkers.

SOUTHERN FINLAND FLY FISHING The flies I use depends a lot when and what I'm fishing for . I live in Southern Finland and I have a big variety of different type of water here. I mostly fish in the sea (the Finnish Gulf I believe you call it) where the target is sea trout. There I use streamers that imitate Baltic herring hook size 2-4. Sometimes I go for shrimp imitations of so called fantasy flies. Jock Scott types of tube flies. Then we have some large lakes which are quite shallow, there we fish for grayling and salmon. Small dry flies of all sorts, ants and other terrestrials in sizes 8-12. We have a couple of good salmon rivers here in southern Finland, for example the Kymi river where salmon and seatrout still spawn from the sea. There I fish with reddish or dark tube flies and large double or trebles.

FLY FISHING ON THE SOUTH COAST OF NORWAY
You asked for the top ten of my flies. Its difficult to say, because it changes from year to year and from river to river. But her are the flies who were most common used last season in my favorite river called Otra, (south coast of Norway)
Salmon daytime:
General Practioner (double hook 4-8, and 1/2" or 1" tube. depends of waterflow)
Thunder & Lightning (double hook 4-8, and 1/2" or 1" tube. depends of waterflow)
Gary (double hook 4-8, and 1/2" or 1" tube. depends of waterflow)
Green Highlander (double hook 4-8, and 1/2" or 1" tube. depends of waterflow)
Muddler Minnow (silver or gold body, with long flash marabou) (single hook size 2 and double hook size 4-10. dip. on waterflow.)
March Brown (single hook 2 and double hook 4-12)
Salmon and sea trout at night:
Black Muddler (silver or all black body) (single hook 2, and double hook 4-6)
Several different dark and longhaired tubeflies, like Pearl Shadow, Silver and Black, Sunray Shadow. In tube, size 1/2" -11/2" There are also other custom made flies, but it seems like the ones colored orange/red or green or brown depending on the watercolor are best at daytime. And gray/black/silver are best at night.
