TENNESSEE MOUNTAIN FISHING
Hi I'm Mike from the mountains of Tennessee. Around here there are two types of Fly fishing for rainbow and brown Trout. One is fishing tail waters from dams and the other is mountain streams. The rule is the bigger the water the smaller the fly and the smaller the water the bigger the fly.
In large tail waters we fish size 18-20 BWO, Sulfur comparaduns and elk hair caddis.
In mountain streams we use size 10-14 orange stimulators and
weighted Gold Ribbed Hares Ear Nymphs. The Mountain trout range from about 7-12 inches and the tail water trout range from 12 - 30 inches. We also fish for small mouth bass in the rivers with woolly buggers and clousers minnows. The are rare and are only found in higher elevations and in very clean water.

FLY FISHING IN THE CASCADE MOUNTAINS Thought I'd send you my ten favorite flies. I live in the state of Washington USA, I'm on the west side of the Cascade Mountains and our climate is probably a lot like what I understand England's is, lots of rain and for the most part very moderate Temperatures. My wife and both work and have built a retirement home in the Cascade foothills on the West side.
The weather is quite different there, Very warm in the summer and very cold in the winter and lots of rain or snow. I like to fish Lakes more than rivers or streams. Most of the streams here are very small, narrow and overgrown. There are some large rivers also and I'll try them in retirement. (about 2 years from now) Mostly I have been fishing Lakes in the Cascade mountains, average elevation is about 4500 Feet and a few in the lowlands around Tacoma, around 500 to 700 feet in elevation. The flies I use most are:
(Nymphs) Gold Ribbed Hares Ear,
Telico,
Damsel,
Dragon Fly,
Zug Bug.
(Dry) Adams,
Black Gnat,
Blue Dunns,
Elk Hair Caddis,
Sizes10 thru 18.
Have a great Day!
Chuck

SALMON FLY FISHING ON THE MILWAUKEE RIVER, WISCONSIN, USA
My son-in-law introduced me to salmon fly fishing on the Milwaukee River in Wisconsin. The King salmon had just started to run up river and we hooked several in two days, including one tenacious 28 pounder and another pf 20 plus pounds. Other big salmon were caught but lost. The most productive flies were polar shrimp and woolly buggers. Bob H
